The GNH Stewardship Seal

The GNH Stewardship Seal represents the highest standard of environmental and social responsibility in travel, developed from Bhutan's unique position as the world's only carbon-negative country. Unlike other certifications that focus on minimizing harm, The GNH Stewardship Seal requires positive impact creation across all nine domains of Gross National Happiness. 

Certification requirements include carbon-positive impact where all activities must remove more carbon from the atmosphere than they produce. Community empowerment ensures local Bhutanese communities receive direct, measurable benefits that improve quality of life. Cultural preservation supports traditional Bhutanese knowledge, practices, and languages. 

Biodiversity enhancement requires all activities to contribute to ecosystem health and species protection throughout Bhutan. Economic justice mandates fair wages, profit sharing, and economic opportunity creation for all local Bhutanese participants.
